The primary responsibility for this position is to grow sales through direct sales efforts within the U.S. territory.  This person will be responsible for promoting all Exxelia products, capabilities and solutions to OEM customers. The employee is expected to work towards Exxelia’s corporate goals and objectives with an eye towards customer satisfaction and consistent sales growth.
 
It also requires monitoring and identifying market place needs and trends and communicating them back to the appropriate Exxelia business unit and department.
 
Geographical responsibility: All U.S.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
  • Responsible for sales growth of strategic customers in the U.S. territory
  • Responsible to create new demand for Exxelia products in the assigned territory
  • Direct work with Business Development Manager on New Business Opportunities within the U.S.territory.
  • Work with other sales and business development resources to coordinate all transverse programs.
  • Understand and adhere to all corporate, national and international trade regulations
  • Develop annual budgets and monthly forecasts for the territory
  • Collect monthly activities reports from all sales resources in the territory
  • Submit a weekly activity report to management.
  • Individual must be a self starter able to work effectively without on-site supervision at various customer locations, home office, corporate offices, various travel centers.

Role Description:
 
Within Exxelia, the Business Development Manager (BDM) is at the heart of everything that happens within a particular Product Line, in this case, Magnetic devices (including transformers, inductors, and related assemblies) in the North American Market).  The BDM
  • is in charge of business development through the capture of new opportunities, and through the growth of ongoing business activities and historical accounts;
  • guides and directs the Sales and Engineering functions during the prospecting, sales pipeline, and new product development processes;
  • guides and collaborates with the R&D team to develop and maintain technology and product roadmaps;
  • decides on which opportunities to pursue, or not;
  • is responsible for setting prices and answering requests for quotations and proposals in a timely and professional manner;
  • develops product pricing and account-based pricing strategy, with approval of Finance; GBU executives, and the Exxelia USA General Manager.
 
The Business Development Manager has three main roles:
 
A Sales Support/Sales Driving & Project Management Role:
  • Drives the sales efforts and the acquisition of new customers for the Magnetic business unit in the North American (NA) Market;
  • Grows the Magnetics business unit sales pipeline in NA and ensures diligent opportunity follow-up and support;
  • Trains Exxelia USA Sales Managers, Manufacturing Reps, and Distributors on the Magnetics product portfolio offering, value propositions, and target 
  • markets;
  • Drives the Manufacturing Reps Network and Regional Sales Managers towards the best opportunities, for efficiency and performance;
  • Influence customers and their requirements by presenting alternative technologies, approaches, and solutions that best align with Exxelia’s value proposition;
  • Propose product pricing to finance and management, taking into account raw material costs, labor hours, target margins, and price and market positioning;
  • Consolidate the timely response to RFQ’s (in collaboration with sales and customer service).
 
A Product Portfolio Management Role:
  • Research and identify market trends, prospects, product lines, customers, and competitors;
  • Disseminate market, customer, and competitive information and intelligence to internal stakeholders;
  • Develop the Magnetic Technology & Product Road Map, in collaboration with Engineering and R&D teams.
 
A Strategic Management Role:
  • Consolidate information related to markets and business results;
  • Sets yearly Bookings (order intake) budget;
  • Participate in Strategic Business Planning and Reporting.

Role Requirements:

Global manufacturer of custom inductors, transformers and capacitors for high technology applications seeks a creative and enthusiastic engineer who will help develop specialized assembly processes including BOMs, manufacturing instructions, production routings, special verification tests. Will also provide other production engineering expertise. This engineer will  evaluate components from domestic and international suppliers and troubleshoot problems as needed to meet customer delivery requirements. This role will have a heavy emphasis on support of new Enterprise resource planning system rollout.
 
The preferred candidate will have the following attributes:
 
  • BS EE or equivalent on the job training serving in an engineering capacity
  • Five to ten years of experience
  • Strong technical base in
    • circuit components including inductors, resistors, capacitors, and transformers
    • circuit analysis methods

  • Experience in manufacturing processes related to electro-mechanical assembly including soldering, lead assembly and molding (encapsulation) is desired.
 
The successful candidate will have a background in design of broadband transformers and magnetic for switching power supplies and experience in design to develop, test and investigate properties that affect electrical aspects of a new or modified magnetic products.  Will establish model and project costs and maintain a constant interfacing with projects from design through production.  Should also have and in-depth knowledge of transformer design.  Three years experience in the magnetic industry strongly preferred.
