National Renewable Energy Laboratory

The NREL Power Electronics and Electric Machines Section conducts research funded by the Department of Energy, other federal agencies and industry. The research is in the areas of power electronics and electric machines thermal management and thermomechanical and reliability aspects. This includes novel fluid-based cooling technologies design, development and characterization, (thermal interface) material thermal performance and reliability characterization, as well as phsics-of-failure and predictive lifetime models.
