Open Call for Mentors to Students at APEC 2024

Good news! The number of students receiving travel support has expanded to 60 for APEC 2024.

PSMA is sponsoring student mentorship to these students so we need more mentors than last year.

To increase effectiveness & effort, this mentorship programs has various activities before, during & after APEC that are student driven. For example, there is a student job fair so students may want mentors to review their resumes or want to solicit interview/career advice. However, if the student does not take the initiative to ask their mentor for input, then mentors are free to focus on other things. The commitment timeframe is roughly one quarter (Jan-Mar), but we encourage mentorship to continue if both agree. Please note that these students tend to be PhDs who are close to graduation.

Consider investing in the next generation of engineers in the power electronics industry.

Simply respond to power@psma.com with your name, contact, & areas of expertise (select all that apply):

  • AC-DC Converters
  • DC-DC Converters
  • Power Electronics for Utility Interface
  • Motor Drives & Inverters
  • Semiconductors
  • Magnetics
  • Other Devices & Components (Capacitors, Resistors, Interconnects, Fuses, etc.)
  • Power Electronics Integration & Manufacturing
  • Modeling & Simulation
  • Control
  • Wireless Power Transfer
  • Renewable Energy Systems
  • Transportation Power Electronics
  • Power Electronics Applications

Note: This is an open call so you do not need to be a PSMA member to be a mentor. However, you are strongly encouraged to attend APEC in person.
