PSMA Committees Meet During APEC 2006
A s reported in the last issue of the Update, the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dallas, TX was the venue for the PSMA Annual Meeting of members during APEC 2006. In addition to the Annual Meeting, a number of PSMA committees also held meetings during that week. Most of the work of PSMA is done by the committees and APEC provides an opportunity for the committee members to meet in person, rather than by teleconference.

As usual, the Marketing Committee meeting was well attended. Could it be the free lunch? Marketing Committee Chair, Lou Pechi, gave an overview of the work of the committee during the past year. He also went over the results of the PSMA survey of members.

The group approved the mission statement for the committee and discussed the objectives and plans for the year ahead.

Tim Cassidy, Co-chair of the Energy Efficiency Committee, discussed the activities of the committee during the past year. This is one of the most active committees and its meetings are always well attended. The committee is an industry advisor to the EPA, the California Energy Commission (CEC) as well as the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) as these organizations develop efficiency standards for electronic power supplies in different applications.
